Making your Voice Heard

There are many ways you can make your voice heard…

To governments (UK , Scottish, local council)
  •  Vote
  •  respond to consulations

The government asks us to respond to prospective legislation, planning issues etc. See current consultations for a list of current consultations relating to women at work
  • lobby your MEPS, MPs, MSPs or local councillors
  • send a parliamentary petition to the Scottish parliament
In your local community...
  • via the community council
  • volunteer
  • write to your local paper
In the workplace...
  • staff meetings
  • via the union

By your actions...

There are many ways to make your voice heard, and they aren’t always verbal!

  • Spend your money with companies you believe in. Boycott what you don’t.

Or even by singing Bread and Roses, the unofficial anthem of  International Women's Day

Action for South Africa (ACTSA) for several years has campaigned to provide women in Zimbabwe with sanitary products. Pads or tampons cost more than 50% of the average monthly wage in Zimbabwe. Yet without safe sanitary pads or tampons women and girls cannot work or go to school, or risk infections. Find out more and how you can help from their website.
