Business Mentoring Project

A successful economy needs winning, growing businesses in all sectors. Our project is about finding businesses that would appreciate a little help and then matching them up with a mentor who will meet with them regularly over a 12 month period. Mentors give of their time freely and there is no charge made to the businesses.

I am looking for:
Businesses who have been operating for preferably over 1 year and who would like a little help. They may have gone stale, may not be too sure how to make the best of new technologies, they may just want a critical friend who will look at their management and talk it over. Any size of business could benefit from having a mentor, and any business can apply.

Having a business mentor can help you develop key business skills and build your confidence. Business mentors can improve your knowledge, ability and confidence, and can help you develop a stronger and more sustainable business.

If you plan to develop your business and are willing to meet with a mentor for a few hours a month, then this could be a very effective business tool to help you plan your way forward.

Mentors: People who have been/are successful in either running their own business or working with someone else and who are prepared to share their skills. Mentors become a “critical friend” sharing ideas and helping the company they mentor to operate more effectively or to grow.

Mentors agree to keep in touch with their Mentee for a period of 12 months and give of their time freely. They can be a role model or simply an ally or a “sounding board”. They don’t need to be qualified trainers or highly skilled in the business core activity. By helping others they not only get great personal satisfaction but also help our regional economy
