Making our voices heard at home at work and in the community
In the Highlands, as in other parts of the country, women are under-represented in decision-making processes from local community groups to board rooms and government. This means that women's views are missing from important discussions and decision making. Women also face barriers which limit their participation and prevent them from becoming more involved, making a contribution and achieving their potential. W@W organises regular support network events which target topical subjects and stimulating speakers, in locations across the Scottish Highlands. Events provide the opportunity for women to explore new ideas, learn something new and develop their points of view.
