Posted on: Thursday 21st February 2013Believe in Yourself and Be Heard: Self empowerment and Assertiveness Workshop - Inverness. Thursday 25th April 2013. 10am - 3pm. Free including lunch.
Many women find it difficult to be assertive - to stand their ground, ask for what they want and need, say "no" when "no" is what they want to say and to express their opinions in a way that gets heard. Sometimes when women are assertive they are accused of being aggressive - which they don't wish to be.
Being assertive does not mean being aggressive. It is a way of communicating which is effective, takes your own needs and opinions into consideration and is also respectul of others. It's a "win-win" approach.
This workshop will teach some simple and powerful assertiveness skills. However, you also need the confidence to use them. If your mind is saying "I can't possibly say.... to ... because they will be angry/hurt etc" you will find it difficult to speak out.
Before you can communicate effectively to others you need to learn how to communicate effectively to yourself. We are often our own worst enemy, listening to that voice in our head that puts us down and undermines our confidence. We weren't born with that voice. We learnt it. And we can create a new and powerful voice to replace it. The workshop will help you to do this.
