Case Study Wives of Army Personnel
A group of potential learners was first identified when the WEA Women at Work Project Coordinator,  Catherine Findlay, made contact with the Welfare Officer of the Army Welfare Centre in Wimberley Way,  Inverness. Initially, a consultation meeting was set up to give the army wives an opportunity to express their views on their learning needs and interests. Unfortunately, poor attendance at that session meant that decisions about the way forward had to be based on the attendance records of previous classes provided by WEA Scotland. From those records, it was found that sessions which focused on crafts had been most.
