W@W Voicing Your Passion and Wisdom - Making Meetings Work for You - Skye
Posted on: Wednesday 12th October 2011
Venue: SLCVO, Tigh Lisigarry, Bridge Road, Portree
18.00 - 20.00
At some meetings it can be scary to "put your head above the parapet" to speak about issues which concern you, and other times it can be important and meaningful to speak out and join in with others who want to make a difference.
In this session you will have the chance to identify and recognise the things which concern you - which you may, or may not, be able to speak out about. We'll explore -
• what can help when communicating your opinions in a range of situations
• look at what gets in the way of you expressing your views and involving yourself in change, whether for yourself, your family, professionally or within your community.
Come and practise voicing your opinions and expertise in a safe space - everyone's contribution, great or small, does matter. Learn some hints and tips from one another and from the speaker to make speaking out at meetings a worthwhile and rewarding experience for yourself and others.
The event is free and refreshments will be available for £3.00
Pre booking is requested and can be made via the online booking form or contact WEA: tel. 01463 710577 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Should you have a special needs requirement please let us know.
All women welcome - we look forward to seeing you.
